Diamondbacks- the Phoenix, Arizona based Major League Baseball
team is a member of the National League’s Western Division.
Arizona Diamondbacks received its name from the rattlesnake
found in the southwest of US.
The
logo of the Arizona Diamondbacks is a huge “A” with one
side of the letter marked with a golden & blue zigzag line
that represents the rattlesnake. Another logo depicts the
snake with the scripted letter “D”.
History
of Arizona Diamondbacks
Established
in 1998, Arizona Diamondbacks was a part of the National
League’s expansion. The team clinched three Division Titles
within 1999 to 2002. The Arizona Diamondbacks played their
first match, on March 31, 1998, against Colorado Rockies.
Arizona Diamondbacks had to face defeat in that match. But,
they don’t have to wait too long.
It
was April 4, 1998 when Diamondbacks, defeating San Francisco
Giants by 3-2, registered their first victory. The very first
year wasn’t a rewarding year for the Diamondbacks team.
Though, Arizona Diamondbacks played exceptionally well between
August and September with 7 consecutive victories. However,
still the team finished in the last slot with a 65-97 record.
Arizona
Diamondbacks claimed 100 games in its second season in 1999.
They also won their first division title in the same year.
With Randy Johnson, the team registered a sweeping victory in
three games and a couple of lockouts in the first month of
2000. The team was playing amazingly well at 6-0 with a 0.91
ERA. Arizona Diamondbacks made a club record by consecutively
winning nine games in a single season.
Year
2001 was one of the best seasons in the history of Arizona
Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks fascinated their fans with
Division Championship, National League Pennant and the World
Title. The trend also continued for the next year, as they
were successful in retaining the Division Championship in
2002.
Unfortunately,
the success story of the Arizona Diamondbacks couldn’t
continue for the next three years. There was no player in the
Hall of Fame for Arizona Diamondbacks and the only retired
number was of Jackie Robinson #42, who got retired by MLA.

One Ballpark; situated at the city center Phoenix is the home
for the Arizona Diamondbacks at present. The view of the Bank
One Ballpark is simply marvelous. The Seventh Street in north,

The stadium is adorned with green grass and facilitated with
air conditioning and retractable roof. The area between the
foul poles contains above 85% seats of the Bank One Ballpark.
The stadium has got 69 luxury suites at mid-level along with
six party suites. The most rare element at Bank One Ballpark
is a swimming pool at the backside of the fencing on the right
field. To be precise, the stadium offers a complete blend of
luxury and services to entice both the basemen as well the
viewers.
